Over time the mill applied carpet protectors can loose their effectiveness.  This is due to the fibers being abraded during foot traffic.   Although the Fluor chemical treatments are very good, it is believed that they need to be replenished after approximately 2 years, especially in high traffic areas. The Fluor chemical applied in the mill can wear off over time and portions of the fiber can be exposed during abrasion that were not exposed during the mill treatment.  The application of Teflon® Advanced after cleaning will assure that the performance of carpet the will be maintained.  We recommend that Teflon® Advanced be applied after every cleaning.

The piece of carpet on the right has been treated by Teflon® Advanced, the one on the left has not. They were both run through an industry soiling test. The one with Teflon® Advanced looks cleaner. This means that when your carpet becomes soiled, you will be able to remove more soil out of your carpet with your vacuum if you have Teflon® Advanced appiled after your carpet is cleaned. Remember Teflon® Advanced is your first defense! Don't take any substitutes- Teflon® Advanced is the best product on the market. Ask for it by name and look for cleaners who use Teflon® Advanced.
